Тегеран, 27 августа. ИРНА — Министр дорог и городского развития Исламской Республики Иран Мохаммад Эслами провел переговоры с главой МИД Туркменистана Рашидом Мередовым, говорится в сообщении, размещенном на сайте иранского министерства дорог.
"В настоящее время работают 30 пограничных пунктов контроля и пропуска, товарооборот с соседями осуществляется при соблюдении здравоохранительных протоколов", сказал Эслами.
Во время встречи обсуждено развитие двусторонних торгово-экономических связей Туркменистана и Ирана. Собеседники в частности подчеркнули расширение транспортно-транзитного сотрудничества и поддержании стабильного грузового железнодорожного сообщения между странами.
Стороны подтвердили необходимость немедленного снятия, ограничений, введенных из-за пандемии коронавируса COVID-19 на границах двух старн.
Министры отметили важную роль Межправительственной туркмено-иранской комиссии по экономическому сотрудничеству в свете дальнейшего укрепления двусторонних отношений в сфере торговли, транспортных перевозок и связи.

2020-08-27 › Iranian border trade with neighboring states via 30 customs offices
Tehran, Aug 27, IRNA – Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami said on Thursday that Iranian border trade with neighboring states is underway through 30 cross-border customs offices observing protective health protocols.
Eslami made the remarks in a video conference with Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov.
In the virtual meeting, Eslami underlined the importance of removal of any restrictions in order to boost trade between Iran and Turkmenistan.
Iranian borders are facilitators of trade relations with the neighboring states, the minister said, expressing hope that the volume of trade exchange with the friendly states including Turkmenistan would reach the previous level before the pandemic.
Eslami said that intimate and strategic talks between Iranian and Turkmen presidents indicate longstanding relations.
Referring to Turkmenistan's investment in one of southern Iranian ports, Eslami said it is among important issues of cooperation between the two countries.
He called for Turkmenistan cooperation for safely re-opening Sarakhs and Incheboron border terminals and remove obstacles to railroad link in border crossings.
Sarakhs, Bajgiran, Lotfabad and Incheboron are four land border crossings with Turkmenistan in east of the Caspian Sea and northeastern Iran.
The minister noted that Iran's foreign policy is based on developing cooperation, confidence-building and facilitating trade with the neighboring countries, in particular.
For his part, the Turkmen foreign minister said the two sides enjoy good situation in railroad transportation.
Meredov said that coronavirus pandemic have created restrictions on international borders.
In a related development, caretaker of Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade Hossein Modares Khiabani announced on July 5 that 80 percent of the border crossings have reopened and border trade is underway.
Khiabani said that 60 percent of the country's non-oil products are exported to 15 neighboring states.

TEHRAN, Aug. 27 (MNA) – Islamic Republic of Iran and Turkmenistan called for broadening and developing trade and transit cooperation.
Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mohammad Eslami in his talk with Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Marudov on Thu., held through video conference, called for the removal of any barrier in order to expand trade and transit cooperation between the two countries.
In this talk, the two sides discussed bilateral issues in the field of transport and emphasized the need for taking urgent action for the removal of transit barriers between the two countries, expanding regional cooperation and developing strategic, economic and trade cooperation during the coronavirus global pandemic.
Turning to the measures taken by the Islamic Republic of Iran in alleviating adverse effects of coronavirus, COVID-19, in the field of transport, Eslami added, “presently, Iran’s border exchanges has been resumed in 30 joint borders with neighboring countries after the spread of coronavirus, so that health protocols and guidelines are strictly implemented at border points.”
Elsewhere in his remarks, Eslami pointed to the issue of Turkmenistan’s investment at one of southern Iranian ports and added, “this investment is one of the most important issues of cooperation between the two countries.”
He emphasized the need for accelerating in reopening Sarakhs and Incheborun borders as well as preventing rail stoppages at border points.
Iran’s foreign policy is based on development of cooperation, trust-building and facilitating trade ties between countries especially with neighboring states, Eslami highlighted.
Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Marudov, for his part, described rail transport situation between Iran and Turkmenistan ‘satisfactory’ and said, “bilateral trade between the two countries of Iran and Turkmenistan, which was severely affected by the spread of coronavirus, would be expanded.”
